Guidelines for Article 8 of the FCTC

 At its second session in Bangkok, Thailand, in July 2007, the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control unanimously adopted guidelines for Article 8 of the treaty, focused on protection from exposure to secondhand smoke.

The Article 8 guidelines were based on the lessons learned and best practices from countries that have successfully implemented smokefree policies, and provide a roadmap for countries looking to adopt such policies at the national level.
